How to get from Incheon International Airport to Seoul center?
Incheon International Airport is approximately 50 kilometers from downtown Seoul. Typically, there are four types of transportation options you can choose from to travel from the airport to Seoul center: AREX, taxi, subway and bus.
Incheon Airport Railroad Express (AREX)
Operating hours are from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. This is the fastest mode of transportation, with a frequency of 25 - 40 minutes per trip and includes two types:
- Arex Express Train travels directly to Seoul Station in 43 minutes, ticket price 8,000₩ (~160,000 VND).
- Arex Commuter Train stops at 10 stations along the way, ticket price 4,150₩ (~83,000 VND).
Taxi
This mode of transportation is quite expensive and suitable for large groups of about 3 - 7 people, families with many children and elderly members or those with bulky luggage. The cost ranges from around 70,000₩ (~1,400,000 VND) and up, depending on the location of your hotel. It is advisable to have the address prepared in Korean as many drivers do not understand English.

Subway
From Incheon International Airport, take Line 1 to the city center. This mode of transportation is quite slow and tiring as the train stops at many stations along its route. However, one advantage is that you can get off at the station closest to your hotel. The starting fare for an adult is 1,350₩ (~27,000 VND) for the first 10 km, and for the next 10 to 50 km, an additional 100₩ (~2,000 VND) is charged for every 5 km. If you pay with a T-money transportation card, it will be 100₩ cheaper per adult.
Bus
The Limousine Bus from Incheon to Seoul has several routes that pass through different areas of the city. You need to check the bus route in advance and get off at the stop closest to your hotel. Compared to AREX, the bus is more expensive and less convenient, with ticket prices ranging from 10,000₩ (~200,000 VND) to 15,000₩ (~300,000 VND). You can purchase tickets at the Airport Bus Ticket Booth in the Arrival Hall (1st Floor) at Gates 4, 9, or outside at Gates 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13 and 9C.
Entry requirements
From June 1st, the South Korean government will resume issuing short-term C-3 visas for tourists from Level 1 countries, including Vietnam. Although many preventive measures against the pandemic have been lifted, international travelers still need to comply with the following conditions:
- Negative Covid-19 test result: Travelers need a negative PCR test or a rapid antigen test result before entering the country.
- PCR test after entry: Within 72 hours after entering South Korea, travelers must take a PCR test.
- Mask-wearing regulations: South Korea has lifted the mask mandate for outdoor settings, but it may still apply in indoor areas and public transportation.
These measures are intended to ensure the safety of both travelers and local residents, while also supporting the safe and effective resumption of international tourism.
